Xbox Games with Gold February 2016 Free Games Predictions: 'Zheros,' 'Hand of Fate,' 'Killer Instinct Ultra Edition' All Included?

January is nearly over, and for Xbox owners who are subscribed to Games with Gold program, it's time to look forward to February 2016's free games. As to what these could possibly be, a recent leak may have the answer.

Last week, XBM Network posted an offscreen image showing two games tagged as "Free with Gold." However, clicking on the games leads to a page asking the gamer to purchase them at full price.

"#HandofFate has appeared in free with gold but when you click it it says it's full price anyone else see this?" tweeted XBM Network.

As seen in the image above, the two games are "Killer Instinct: Season 1 Ultra Edition" and "Hand of Fate." "Hand of Fate" currently sells for $20, while "Killer Instinct: Season 1 Ultra Edition" is available for $40. Xbox One owners will have to wait until Microsoft announces its Games with Gold for February 2016 to find out. The announcement is expected to come before the month ends.

Needless to say, the leak doesn't guarantee or confirm the games' inclusion in Microsoft's Games with Gold offer next month. Some suggest it's possible that the leak was due to a technical glitch or someone at the company listed them under the program ahead of schedule.

Still, it isn't unheard of for Games with Gold to leak and for those leaks to actually prove true. In late October last year, VideoGamer News Editor David Scammell shared a screenshot on Twitter of the then-rumored Games with Gold lineup for November. A couple of days later, Microsoft announced the same titles.

Whether the recent leak proves true remains to be seen. What's certain, however, is that the side-scroller title "Zheros" will be available to Xbox One owners for free until Feb. 15. The game was announced as part of January 2016's Games with Gold.
