Xbox One Backwards Compatibility: 'Call of Duty: Black Ops'May Land Soon On Xbox One

Good news for Xbox One fans of "Call of Duty: Black Ops." There's reason to believe the title could be coming to the console soon.

An Xbox One user was recently able to download the title's Annihilation: Pack 3 DLC from the Spanish Xbox One store. The user posted screenshots at SoloXboxOne.com as proof. This is a strong indication that "Call of Duty: Black Ops" is definitely coming to the Xbox One sooner than later.

Microsoft has already confirmed that the title is set for release to the current-generation console, although no specific release date was provided. Right now, the game is tagged as "In-Progress" at Microsoft's Xbox One Backwards Compatibility feedback page. In addition to "Call of Duty: Black Ops," the company is also working on bringing five other games to the program, namely "Halo Wars," "Skate 3," "BioShock," "BioShock 2," and "BioShock Infinite."

Fans can check out Microsoft's dedicated page on the Xbox Wire for updates on "Call of Duty: Black Ops" Xbox One Compatibility status, as well as those of other titles.

Microsoft currently has 130 titles available through the program. Xbox One Backwards Compatibility launched in November with 104 games. Last month, 16 more were added, and this month, another 10 were included in the program's ever-growing library.

The recently added titles include "Soulcalibur" and "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings." Developer CD Projekt RED has even offered the latter as a free download for Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners. The offer is available in all markets, excluding Japan, and runs until Feb. 21.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops" is the top 5 most-requested title for Backwards Compatibility. Five other titles in the franchise are also included in the top 10, making the "Call of Duty" series the most-requested title for the program. Titles with the most fan requests have a high possibility of being added to the program, but so far only the six games mentioned previously are certain to be added to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility catalog in the future.
