Xbox One Twitch Updates December 2014 Released: Features Include Upgrades, Add Ons, Filter Options
Xbox One's Twitch was recently upgraded and it showcases new and improved features, such as a wider range of search and filter options, an additional Videos on Demand option, a customizable Home screen and more.
Twitch for Xbox One revealed its hefty updates to allow players and consumers a better user experience.
The update added a Videos on Demand option, allowing users to share and view the archived videos of fellow users even if the target user is online.
The new Home Screen is also easy to personalize, and the user can input specific broadcasters, games and more on their dashboard. This allows for easier viewing without the need to go through search options to browse the contents again and again.
There is also the new and advanced filter options on Twitch, which allows players to narrow down their search for live streams by keying in even the most specific of criterion or detail, such as player stats, kill/death ratios, specific playable maps and more.
A more detailed explanation on the app's updates as well as a video that showcased all the new features was introduced in a post made on the Xbox News Wire by Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb, the director of programming for Xbox Live.
"The update brings a slew of advanced broadcast filtering features that should help you find exactly what you want to watch at a moment's notice," Hyrb wrote. He explained that the app associates real time gameplay stats with broadcast and that its improved filters now looked at details such as player stats, in-game activity, game modes, player skill level, gameplay progress and more.
Twitch's Director of Product Marketing Annie Berrones was pleased with the new update and how it made the home entertainment experience better and stronger for gamers.
"Xbox One helped cement Twitch's place in the living room with its robust set of features," she said.
