Xbox Project Scorpio to Arrive During 2017 Holiday Season

Microsoft recently hinted that it will launch big titles alongside the release of Project Scorpio. This update was based on a comment made by Xbox head Phil Spencer, who said that it was crucial to have first-party games ready for launch.

On March 23, Spencer posted on Twitter, "I want to give our games more time on stage at E3 [Electronic Entertainment Expo]. I sometimes feel like we rush telling the story of our games at E3."

Since Spencer has been mum about Project Scorpio, tech enthusiasts who have been eagerly waiting for updates on the new console can take comfort in the statement of game retailer GameStop, which said that Scorpio is a very powerful system that is specially made for 4K gaming.

During their last investors call, GameStop chief operating officer Tony Bartel said, "Unfortunately we can't talk about a lot other than what's known. We see it as a very gaming centric, very, very powerful unit and so we do believe that there will be some great games that are made for this."

With its rumored support for 4K graphics, the Xbox Scorpio is being hailed as one of the most user-friendly consoles to be ever introduced in the market. This powerful console is said to come with a powerful six-teraflop graphics processing unit (GPU), adding to the console's durability and entertainment.

Once released, Project Scorpio is expected to compete directly with the PlayStation 4 Pro and Nintendo Switch. According to Microsoft, this next iteration of the Xbox will be the first and only console to enable not just 4K gaming but also high-fidelity virtual reality (VR). It is also compatible with all Xbox One accessories and games.

Microsoft first teased Project Scorpio at the company's E3 presentation last year, but the tech giant has been slow at ramping up the hype for the upcoming console. However, the company recently teased that the Xbox Scorpion will launch this holiday 2017.
