"Xenoblade Chronicles 2" is speeding towards its December arrival and developers want to show just how much progress the game has already made even within this year.
A new image shared by the Nintendo of Europe Twitter account featured two screenshots of the game side-by-side.
The screenshot on the left showed the game as it appeared during a Nintendo Switch presentation back in January. Next to it was a screenshot that captured how the game looked like in a recent Nintendo Direct.
As fans could quickly see, the differences between the two screenshots were quite noticeable.
The protagonist's hair looked more textured in the newer screenshot and his eyes and eyebrows were more expressive as well.
Arguably, the most significant differences among the screenshots could be seen when players looked at Rex's armor. The accessories on Rex's arms were brighter and his armor looked more detailed. Even the patterns have become more visible.
The developers noted that "Rex appears much more spirited" in the later screenshot.
Fans will likely be glad to know that the developers are taking care to make "Xenoblade Chronicles 2" as detailed as they can, even though that can prove to be a challenge with a game this massive.
Living and breathing beings known as Titans act as the landmasses in Alrest's sea of clouds. The backs of these Titans are home to all kinds of varied environments and the idea that each and every little thing in them will be detailed carefully has to be a tantalizing thought for fans and should get them hyped up to do some exploring.
These environments are also going to be occupied by different creatures that will likely be detailed as well.
"Xenoblade Chronicles 2" is set to be released for the Nintendo Switch on Dec. 1, though more details about it should be made available before then.
