Xiaomi Mi 6 Release Date, Rumors: Leak Reveals Flagship's April Launch

There is a new rumor going around that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be launched on April 6. The information was first spotted on MyDrivers by Gizmochina, which also provided details on the specifications and features of the flagship.

The Xiaomi smartphone will also reportedly be powered by the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The Chinese tech company is also allegedly not planning to underclock it, contrary to the previous reports.

This means that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will make the most out of the power and performance of the latest Qualcomm mobile chipset, which features a 10-nanometer design.

The same source revealed that the Xiaomi Mi device will sport a 5.2-inch LCD display with a 2.5 curved glass. The company is also expected to offer a variant of the Mi 6 with a ceramics chassis.

The handset is also rumored to sport a 19-megapixel (MP) rear-facing camera, which will allow users to shoot 960 frames per second (fps) slow motion clips at 720p resolution.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 will have a version packing 4 GB random-access memory (RAM) and a 64 GB storage space priced at around $290 while a premium ceramic-caked variant with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage will be pricier at $362.

With Xiaomi's silent about its next flagship, fans of the Chinese startup will definitely be happy to know that they are a month away from the unveiling of the Xiaomi Mi 6.

There is a lot riding on the success of the smartphone simply because it can bring the company back on track following the exit Hugo Barra, who played a crucial role in expanding the company's reach.

His exit put it in a precarious position. Add to that Xiaomi losing its accolade as the top smartphone manufacturer in its home market.

Based on the specs and features revealed by the leak, the Xiaomi Mi 6 could very well help the tech company back on its feet.
