Xiaomi Mi Box Android TV Could Be Coming to US Very Soon

The Xiaomi Mi Box reportedly has 2GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage, Tech Crunch reports. Furthermore, it has a quad-core processor that can support 4K at 60 frames per second. The Mi Box also has HDMI and USB 2.0 ports on its back and can be remotely controlled through Bluetooth and voice commands.

The Mi Box can also be tapped to stream or play shows from the iPhone, iPad, laptop, TV or Android device. Streamings will not be affected by incoming calls on the device. It also supports HD playback and high-speed streaming. According to the official Mi Box website, the design of the device has garnered the Red Dot and Good Design awards.

It is rumored that the Xiaomi Mi Box may arrive in the US as soon as next month. Furthermore, the device will cost under $100. Techno Buffalo points out that there has been a device called NVIDIA Shield that has 4K support but is priced at $200, which is double of what Xiaomi is offering for their Mi Box.
The Chinese company announced the Xiaomi Mi Box Android TV earlier this year at Google I/O but there wasn't a release date yet. Xiaomi Vice President Hugo Barra said that the company is gearing to enter the US market for consumer electronics, Bloomberg noted.
Barra adds that they will be using social media as a means to get in touch with their target market, specifically those who want new technology at an affordable price. Xiaomi is a company based in Beijing, China and their biggest market overseas is India. Barra has been cited by the outlet saying that their operations in the country are going well.
There is currently no official statement confirming that the Xiaomi Mi Box will be coming to the US in October and that it will be priced at $100. Rumors will remain as they are unless the Xiaomi issues a press release.
