Xiaomi's Mi Note 2 Phone to Have Different Name

Xiaomi's anticipated Mi Note 2 will have a different name than expected.

There have been several rumors regarding the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. One of them is how it will be named - from Mi Note 2 to Mi Pro. Its launch is also rumored to be this week. Since the Mi Pro rumor is not yet official, the device will remain to be called as the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 in this article.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Launch Date, News, Update
Instead of being called the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 after its predecessor, the device might instead be called as Xiaomi Mi Pro, according to a rumor in China, GSM Arena notes. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Specs, Update
Phone Arena reports that the Xiaomi Note 2 apparently went through the 3C regulatory body of its home country, China, last week. The outlet added that naming the Mi Note 2 to Mi Pro would be fitting because of its premium specs.

According to the leaks, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is alleged to have 128GB of storage, curved-edges similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and a 6GB to 64GB memory. Additionally, it may also have a Snapdragon 821 or the Snapdragon 820 chips and two cameras: a 13MP dual rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 may also have a 5.7-inch Quad HD curved 1080p display and may possibly ship with the newest Android Nougat software. If the rumors are true, the Xiaomi Note 2 may be one of the first smartphones to ever ship with pre-installed Android Nougat.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Release Date, Rumors, Price

While Sep. 14 may be the possible launch date of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, it may take more than a week for the device to get to the customer's hands. The Mi Note 2 is expected to be sold at a retail price of around $450 for its premium specs, Techno Buffalo wrote. It is possible that the Mi Note 2 will be released a full 10 days after its launch date according to the outlet.

Xiaomi has not released any official statements and the rumors will remain as they are until the China-based company will publish an official press release for the Xiaomi Mi Note 2.
