Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro Release Date: Device is Tipped to include Circular Finger Scanner, 13MP Camera, 2 GB of RAM

Those who are looking for a smartphone that is affordable but carries premium features might want to check out Xiaomi as the tech company offers some in their line. In fact, according to Softpedia, the handset manufacturer is planning to add another one which is dubbed as the Redmi Note 2 Pro.

The source stated that the device's predecessor, the Redmi Note 2, is one of the most popular smartphones in China. Priced at $150, Xiaomi sold more than 5 million units in less than a month after the device was launched. And now, they are going to bring Redmi Note 2 Pro which is found out to be also a mid-range phone with premium build, according to the live photos leaked by Chinese blog Mobile-Dad.

If the leaks are true, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro will sport a full-metal outer body design which is noted by Latin Post to be a sleeker and more aesthetic compared to its predecessors with an all-metal body. But the very notable feature seen in the leaked photo is the circular finger scanner that is found at the back below the LED flash of the rear camera. It wouldn't really come as a surprise though if it pushes through as most premium today carry the fingerprint scanner.

iDigital Times also reported that Xiaomi is rumored to be working with its own 3D Touch technology just like the one found in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6S Plus. And rumors have it that aside from the Mi 5, the Redmi Note 2 Pro is also going to get it.

With regards to its hardware specs, Tech Times mentioned that the upcoming device is expected to be similar to the Redmi Note 2. It will sport a 5.5-inch full HD display (1080 X 120p) with 401 ppi pixel density. Under the hood is an octa-core 2.2 GHz MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 chipset and Android 5.0 Lollipop. It will have 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage capacity with a Micro-SD slot for expandable memory.

Aside from that, the device will boast a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front snapper. It will be powered with 3,060 mAh battery cell. Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro is expected to arrive this December 2015.
