'Young Justice' Animated Series News: Fans of the Show Continue to Clamor for Its Return
Although the Cartoon Network DC animated series "Young Justice" has ceased providing superhero entertainment to kids and kids at heart for three years already, avid fans of the show may have a chance to see the young superhero characters once more for another season. Speaking to Shanlian on Batman, as reported by Heroic Hollywood, "Young Justice" co-developer Brandon Vietti is just as hopeful about the return of the series.
While Vietti admitted that there are no concrete plans as of yet on the return of the series, as it is not within his and Greg Weisman's—his "Young Justice" co-developer—capacity to resurrect the show, he disclosed that he is just as excited as the fans of the show to give it another season run.
"… Maybe we'll get some good news about it someday. Greg (Weisman) and I, Phil Bourassa, our character designer, we're all anxious to jump back in the world. We have more stories to tell, we'd love to do it and honestly we're on standby until our bosses come and say 'we want to make more,'" Viettie said.
To this day, many fans of "Young Justice" still clamor for its return. They even campaigned for the return of the series on Twitter by using the phrase "renew Young Justice" as the hashtag. With this, Heroic Hollywood suggested that the fans keep doing what they are doing as their clamor may engender positive results as, reading between the lines, it seems that the fate of the return of "Young Justice" is at the mercy of higher DC bosses.
"Young Justice" is an animated series that follows the young superhero lives of Superboy, Kid Flash, Artemis, Miss Martian, Robin, and Aqualad. The show debuted in November 2010 via a one-hour special on the Cartoon Network. After the airing of its season two's finale episode in spring 2013, fans had been clamoring for return of the show.
