Pro-life youth activists are planning to make a stand during this week's confirmation hearings of John Roberts by displaying the body of an aborted child.
Working with the Christian Defense Coalition and other organizations, members of the Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust are currently in the process of obtaining a permit from the District of Columbia Department of Health to display the child outside of the Senate.
"The two most impacted groups of judicial activism are those of us who were born after the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision and were open prey in our mother's womb, and worse, the 46 million children that have died from abortion," said Arianna Grumbine, spokesperson for the pro-life activist youth organization comprised of young people born after the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.
In the 1973 Roe v. Wade case, the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision overturned state laws restricting abortion. As one of the most controversial decisions in Supreme Court history, it sparked national debate which has persisted ever since.
"We were stripped of all our Constitutional rights and could have faced a brutal death without due process of law," said Grumbine on behalf of the survivors of abortion. "We are joining with other youth pro-life organizations to make our voices heard during the confirmation hearings of Judge Roberts."
The public display of the aborted child is to represent the millions of children that were killed ever since the Roe v. Wade ruling.
"It is essential that their voice be heard during the confirmation process and the horror of abortion is exposed. Just as the tragic and ill-conceived Dred Scott decision before it, Roe must be reversed and this horrific violence against America's children come to an end," said Grumbine.
The effects of the Dred Scott decision of 1857 were reversed with the ratification of the 14th and 15th Amendments.
"We are coming to Washington, D.C. to say it does matter who sits on the Supreme Court and pray that Judge Roberts, if confirmed, will honor the Constitution and protect the rights of innocent human life."
