Youth for Christ to proclaim God in Northern Ireland

"Geared to the times, anchored to the Rock."

'Youth for Christ' is celebrating its 60th birthday this year. It is running a monthly event called 'Mannafest', which aims to proclaim the amazing news of Jesus Christ relevantly to every young person.

It will hold a "Church Today Talk" in the evening on Friday 7th May at Enniskillen, and on Saturday night on the 8th May at Ulster Hall Belfast. Each location has its own flavour but the aim is the same - to provide a place where young people can meet together and discover more about God. The speaker will be Jesse Padgett.

The event will involve young people from many locations coming together, enjoying the night, being challenged and encouraged, and praising God together. Mannafest is about the eternal God reaching into the hearts of today's youth, to enable them to share their current situations and give the messages of God to hold onto in their lives.

The organisers have promoted the event, "This is about living with God, and about appreciating the times we live in to allow God to reveal himself in our times. This is about holding onto the truth through the good times and the bad."

Mannafest has been running for 16 years now. During this period young people have consistently been gathering together to meet God.

This year Mannafest is going to look at the story of God - what He has been doing, what He is doing, and each month ask two fundamentals questions: what insights does this give us into His character; and what light does this shed on my world, on my today?

The event has been promoted as being about listening, and will give attendants the opportunity to hear many powerful life-giving stories.
