YWAM Opens 36th GENESIS Location in Colorado Springs
A new location joined YWAM's network of GENESIS, a video conferencing system.
Youth With A Mission welcomed its 36th GENESIS location in Colorado Springs, IL, on Oct. 28, reported the GENESIS Website.
Mark Steffen, International GENESIS Center director, led members of the YWAM International base in Lausanne, Switzerland, in greeting Paul and Peggy Hawkins from YWAM Colorado Springs. Paul Hawkins has been with YWAM since 1971 pioneering the first training Center for YWAM in Scandinavia.
According to the Website, he cited from 2 Corinthians 12:7, in which Apostle Paul speaks of the thorn in his flesh and the sufficiency of Gods grace.
Hawkins then referred to 2 Corinthians 9:8, saying grace in this context is the divine ability to handle pressure. After reading Scripture from Zechariah 4:7, he concluded that the Word of God teaches believers to the way to handle the pressure and difficulties with grace.
GENESIS or Global Electronic Network Educating Serving Inspiring Students, is a video conferencing system used by YWAM, according to the GENESIS Website, to connect present and future training centers around the world in a global classroom and to spread the knowledge of the glory of God filling the earth as the water covers the sea.
On Nov. 18, GENESIS locations will hold the 5th One Voice Event, an international worship gathering using GENESIS technology. Beginning 5:30 p.m. GMT, each GENESIS location will be leading a time of worship and open time to pray and minister to one another, reported the site.
The first One Voice event was held a little less than a year ago on Dec. 6 with 13 locations participating.
