'Z Nation' Renewed for Season 3
Post-apocalyptic television series "Z Nation" is not yet done with their second season but network Syfy has already made an announcement about giving it a third run. According to Den of Geek, the NBCUniversal-owned cable network revealed on Friday that the horror-comedy zombie series has been renewed for season 3, which only means the search for the cure of the zombie virus continues on.
The Hollywood Reporter detailed that the channel ordered 15 new episodes which are scheduled to be aired in 2016. There's no specific date yet on when it will premiere but speculations point to sometime in September.
It's no surprise though that the post-apocalyptic series picked up a third season even before the second season finale. The show is currently in the middle of its second season and Deadline Hollywood reported that it has an average of 1.5 million total viewers per episode (Live +7). It is also ranked as Syfy's "most social original series in total social engagements" as revealed by the network.

"Z Nation" follows the story of a mysterious man named Murphy, who survived three years after a zombie virus plagued throughout America. He needs to go to California where a functioning viral lab is located in order to look for a cure.
His blood is considered to be the only hope that can help solve the problem. With the help of a team of everyday heroes, the lone survivor is being escorted to the destination. The TV series has already featured zombie strippers, zombie babies and zombie dogs.
The show stars DJ Qualls, Keith Allan, Nat Zang, Kellita Smith, Anastasia Baranova, Russell Hodgkinson, and Matt Cedeño. The most recent guest star is George R. R. Martin who will be joined by other upcoming guest stars including Missi Pyle, Doug Jones, Anthony Michael Hall, and Gina Gershon.
Karl Schaefer from "Eureka" and "The Dead Zone" is the showrunner and executive producer. He is working alongside production house The Asylum.
"Z Nation" airs Friday nights at 10pm on Syfy.
