Zac Efron Sends Best Wishes to Demi Moore Amid Rumors
Actor Zac Efron is sending Demi Moore some kind words amid rumors the recently troubled actress had pursued a relationship with him prior to her health scare.
Efron, 24, is a long-time friend of Moore's daughter, Rumer Willis. Willis, 23, was with her mother the night she collapsed after inhaling too much nitrous oxide at a party in her Los Angeles home two weeks ago.
The "High School Musical" star told "Extra" he wished Moore the best in her efforts to regain her health.
"Me and Rumer have been friends for a long time. I know Demi is going through some personal stuff right now. I just wish her well. I hope she's doing okay," Efron said.
When promoting his role in the new animated film, "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax," Efron said his friend Rumer was doing well despite her mother's troubles.
"Yeah, she's doing OK. She's doing fine," Efron told E! News. "It's tough, but I think she's all right."
Efron reportedly partied with Moore prior to her collapse. Moore had been hanging out with her daughter's friends after she went public with her decision to split from Ashton Kutcher back in November.
A source told Us Weekly magazine that in an attempt to regain her youth, Moore consistently surrounded herself with young people. "She's been really down, and she's surrounding herself with young people to make her feel better," the source said.
The insider also claimed that Moore, 49, began hitting on some of Willis' friends, including Efron.
"A wired, gaunt Moore 'tracked down' the High School Musical star at a party in L.A.'s Venice neighborhood. She seemed out of her mind at this party," the source added.
E! News learned over the weekend that Moore has checked into Utah's lavish Cirque Lodge addiction treatment center in Sundance. A source told the entertainment news channel that "G.I. Jane" star entered the rehab facility the week after her hospitalization.
