Zach Galifianakis Takes Former Homeless Woman to Hangover 3 Premiere in Los Angeles (VIDEO)
Zach Galifianakis has taken a former homeless woman to the Los Angeles premiere of "The Hangover 3" on Sunday, according to reports.
The Hollywood actor met 87 year old, Elizabeth "Mimi" Haist, at a Laundromat in 1994. According to reports, 43 year old Galifianakis first met the woman at the Fox Coin Laundry in Santa Monica, Calif. nearly two decades ago.
However, when he found out that the elderly woman had been made homeless two years ago he arranged accommodation for her and paid the rent on a one bedroom apartment for her.
The pair have remained good friends over the past 20 years, and Galifianakis has previously taken her to various premieres and events with him.
Haist, speaking ahead of The Hangover 3 premiere, said, "I'm looking forward to it, I like the excitement of it," according to the New York Daily News.
The pair also attended the premiere of The Hangover 2 together.
She said, "If he's in town, he takes me. Otherwise he lets me take a friend. I dress up nice and a friend helps me with my makeup. It's fun, not something I've ever dreamed I'd experience. The limo takes me home afterwards."
However, the actor is not the only celebrity friend Haist has, and it has also been reported that actress Renee Zellwegger is also a friendly face that the woman sees often.
According to the February issue of Star magazine, Zellwegger decorated Haist's apartment and also helps to make sure her fridge is stocked with food.
