Zachery Tims Death: Pastor's Church Helping Others to Give Thanks This Thanksgiving (VIDEO)
Members of Zachery Tims New Destiny Church will be sharing Thanksgiving meals with many in need this Thanksgiving.
After a tragic year which saw New Destiny Christian Center experience the loss of its charismatic pastor, the late Zachery Tims, who died on Aug. 12. the Apopka Florida Church celebrates Thanksgiving this year with an outreach dinner for its surrounding community which is labeled “Table of Love” on Nov. 26.
Accordingly, the event will provide thanksgiving meals to members of the outlining community as well as hair cuts if needed.
NDCC has expressed its intention to move on with its ministry and is in the process of finalizing its requirements which will serve as a guidepost for the selection of a successor to Tims.
Despite tragedy the church exudes perseverance and maintains a spirit of thankfulness. It was Tims, after all, in an exhortation to maintain courage even through crises, who said this while making an appearance on the Trinity Broadcasting Network in April of 2010:
"Don't curse your crisis, it's working through you - it's not working against you." The pastor continued his theme of not giving in to adversity by saying, "That giant is going to help you get to a better place - that obstacle is going to help you get to a better place."
