Zachery Tims Death: Paula White Continues to Inspire, Encourage New Destiny Christian Center
Paula White's latest message to members of the late Zachery Tims' New Destiny Christian Center (NDCC) church is: "We as Sheep should not scatter."
Many might recall the words of perseverance that White, senior pastor of Without Walls International Church, offered members of NDCC on the day of the funeral of its late pastor:
"New Destiny, it's not just about you any longer. It's about the nation watching you. It's about how you are going to respond, about what you are going to do," as reported by the Orlando Sentinel.
White, who has described Tims as her spiritual son, has helped to inspire the spirit of perseverance in church members as they looked ahead without their inspiring young pastor.
Recently, The Christian Post spoke to Minister Samuel Anderson, an executive administrator of NDCC, who related the church's resolve to move ahead with its ministry and the steps that are being taken to insure an effective successor to Tims, who was found dead in a New York City hotel room on Aug. 12.
Among other points of discussion, Anderson revealed that as the church completes its requirements for what will be the basis for determining its new pastor, it is nevertheless clear that NDCC is seeking a pastor who is a part of a husband-and-wife team.
As Anderson explained, the interpersonal commitment of such a team, as they commit to the message and growth of NDCC, would be of tremendous value to the Apopka, Fla., megachurch.
In light of this basic framework in the selection of a new pastor, it has been reported that White has taken on an important role as part of the selection process. Therefore, it was not surprising when she was asked to be the guest speaker at New Destiny on Oct. 9.
According to Anderson, "She [White] has always been well received here, and she wanted to talk about some of the basic things of what we're looking to achieve." Anderson then intoned the strong message offered by the Tampa pastor, which was: "We as Sheep should not scatter."
An author and host of "Paula White Today," seen on numerous television networks, including the Trinity Broadcasting Network and Black Entertainment Television, White was recently rumored to be the interim pastor at NDCC, however, the rumors have since been dispelled.
Regardless of her specific role with the church, it is clear that White has continued to be a source of strength and inspiration to NDCC members as they move ahead.
