Zara Phillips Pregnant, Another Royal Baby On The Way
Zara Phillips is expecting her first child just like her cousin Prince William, according to a Buckingham Palace announcement on Monday.
While Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton will welcome their child any day now, Phillips' pregnancy is in its early stages.
Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter and her husband Mike Tindall will welcome the child early next year, the BBC reported.
"Mr. and Mrs. Mike Tindall are very pleased to announce that Zara Tindall is expecting baby in the new year," Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
"The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips, Mr. Phillip and Mrs. Linda Tindall, and members of both families are delighted with the news," it continued. "This baby will be the first child for Mike and Zara and the third grand child for the Princess Royal.
The pregnancy is not the first time Zara has followed in her cousin William's footprints. While the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were married in a lavish ceremony in April 2011, Zara and her husband tied the knot just months later in July 2011.
Meanwhile, the media frenzy has begun in anticipation for the Duke and Duchess' first child. The baby's birth and gender will be revealed via royal proclamation that will be delivered from the hospital to Buckingham Palace, where it will be placed on an easel- the same manner used to announce Prince William's own birth.
As for the first-time parents, Kate Middleton is reportedly "nervous" about the birth but "feeling great," according to Us Weekly.
"She's full of energy and really rather used to the bump," said a family source speaking to the magazine. "Naturally she is a little nervous about the big day, what new mum wouldn't be?"
Middleton already made plans to give birth in London's St. Mary's Hospital inside the Lindo Wing, but the expectant mother and her husband are still preparing their home for the baby.
"She's still busy, making sure she's done as much as possible for the new house before the baby is born," the insider revealed. "Once the baby is here, she won't have time for anything else!"
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are redecorating their 20-room apartment in Kensington Palace, which they will move into in the fall.
"Everything is great," the source at Us Weekly assured. "She's healthy, the baby is healthy."
