Zelda Manga to Return After 7 Years

No one knows for sure when the next "Zelda" game will be coming out. In the meantime, fans of Zelda and the adventures of Link have something to look forward to before the end of the year. The two-person team who created "Zelda," who go by the name Akira Himekawa, will be working the return of "The Legend of Zelda" manga series.

The series returns after a seven year absence. The creators made the announcements through various social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook, as well as the website of Himekawa. The official Zelda Twitter account shared several images of the lead character Link, and teasing fans which version of the character will likely appear in the coming series, saying: ""Which version of me can you meet this time? Look forward to finding out!!"

The official Facebook page on the other hand, revealed that the series will be coming out within 2015.

The announcement also coincided with the reveal of the new website of Himekawa, which will also be available in English soon. The website announcement when translated said, "2015, after 7 years ... The Legend of Zelda manga series returns! Please support it."

Akira Himekawa created the manga series based on the "Zelda" game franchise of Nintendo. The duo has drawn ten volumes which was published within ten years, from 1998 to 2008. The stories they covered included those from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, Four Swords, The Minish Cap, A Link to the Past, and Phantom Hourglass. A prologue manga was also authored by the duo in 2011 called The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which can be found within Hyrule Historia, which was published in 2013.

"The Legend of Zelda" is a high-fantasy, action-adventure video game series developed and published by Nintendo. It is considered as one of Nintendo's most prominent and popular franchises.
