Zooey Deschanel is Golden at 2012 Awards Ceremony
Self-described “dork” Zooey Deschanel has wowed everyone by appearing at the Golden Globes in custom Prada. Deschanel was nominated for Best Actress in Television Series, Musical or Comedy.
The star of “New Girl” took the red carpet wearing a green Prada dress and shoes, carrying a Prada clutch. Deschanel arrived with big sister, and fellow actress, Emily, who stars in “Bones.” She was up against such big names as Laura Dern, Tina Fey, Laura Linney, and Amy Poehler.
Though she did not win in her category, Deschanel told “Access Hollywood” that it was a great achievement for a first-year show to be nominated. When asked about vying with Tina Fey, Deschanel admitted she was a bit star-struck and hoped to get a picture with all of the nominees.

In addition to acting, Deschanel runs a successful website for women, HelloGiggles.com and is one-half of the singing duo She & Him. In late 2011, Deschanel and co-star Joseph Gordon-Leavitt created a viral video of the song “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” that appeared on Hello Giggles’ website. It was an instant sensation, gathering over 6 million views in four days.
She married Ben Gibbard, lead vocalist of Death Cab for Cute in 2009; they divorced last month.
