Zsa Zsa Gabor's Husband Named Conservator in Arrangement With Daughter
Actress and Hollywood legend Zsa Zsa Gabor's health has been rapidly declining in recent years, and a judge has now appointed her husband to serve as a temporary conservator. The decision was reached after Gabor's daughter agreed to the terms, signaling a truce between Frederic von Anhalt and Constance Francesca Hilton.
Von Anhalt will now make decisions regarding Gabor's treatment and finances, and declared "Victory!" as he left the courthouse. The decision yesterday marked an end to a long war between von Anhalt and Hilton, as each accused the other of mishandling Gabor's finances and treatment.
Under the agreement, Hilton will be allowed regular visitation with her mother, whom doctors say must remain in a familiar environment. Her lawyer will also receive updates on Gabor's finances, something her daughter specifically wanted to keep an eye on.

The arrangement "will make sure Zsa Zsa's money is used for Zsa Zsa's benefit and not for anybody's birthday party, billboards, or mayoral campaign," Hilton's lawyer, Kenneth Kossoff, told CNN.
Von Anhalt has no plans to move Gabor into a care facility but will instead keep her at home and tend to her there. "I want smiling people in here," he told CNN. "I'm going to make sure she has a good life, as long as I live, I will take care of her."
Gabor became an icon after appearing in such films as "Moulin Rouge" and "For the First Time." Her acting career is only rivaled by her notoriety for marrying, and divorcing, seven men. She had a rather cavalier attitude when it came to marriage, saying that she was "a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man I keep his house."
In 2002, Gabor was involved in a car crash, which left her partially paralyzed and in a wheelchair. She suffered two strokes in 2005 and 2007 before fracturing a hip in 2010. One year later she required a life-saving amputation of her right leg and has been in and out of hospital ever since.
Von Anhalt's conservatorship will be reexamined by a judge in January in order to make sure he is keeping up his end of the arrangement.
