ZTE Blade A1 Launched, Specs Include 5-Inch Display, 13 MP Rear Camera, 2 GB of RAM

Chinese company ZTE is adding another smartphone model in their Blade series and it's dubbed as the Blade A1. According to GSM Arena, the small and affordable handset is going to go on sale on Dec. 11. Interested consumers can purchase the device for just CNY 599 ($93 or €85).

Considering its price, the specs of ZTE Blade A1 is nothing extraordinary but it will be a powerful mid-ranger. Phones Review detailed that the upcoming device is going to sport a fingerprint scanner. This feature is usually available only on flagship devices but the mid-range Blade A1 will definitely be flaunting it, making it the cheapest smartphone with a fingerprint scanning technology.

The source noted that the device will carry the same sensor that the Axon phone used. This indicates that the fingerprint scanner can unlock the smartphone in three-tenths of a second and that's all credited to the 360-unlocking tech.

Aside from the sensor at the back, the new budget-friendly handset will sport a 5-inch 720p touchscreen display. It will carry under its hood a MediaTek MT6735 chipset with 1.3 GHz quad-core and Cortex-A53 CPU. It will be coupled with 2 GB of RAM and will have 16 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card, as noted in NDTV Gadgets.

The source also detailed that it will be equipped with 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 8-megapixel front camera. To run with Android 5.1 Lollipop, the handset will be powered with 2800 mAh nonremovable battery. It will have dual-SIM support which means that it can accept two Nano-SIMs.

As for its connectivity options, the ZTE Blade A1 will have the basics including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G. Sensors include the Proximity sensor and Accelerometer. Available colors are Vibrant Yellow, Dream Green, Cool Blue, Space Grey and Smart White. It's not yet announced whether the latest Blade model will be available outside China but there is a chance that it will be sold internationally.
