ZTE Grand S Info Leaked by Company Before CES 2012 Unveiling
Information on the ZTE Grand S has been leaked by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer earlier this week.
The company plans to unveil the new handset at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and has confirmed that it will have a 5-inch display.
ZTE also stated that it measures 6.9mm thick and that it is slightly slimmer than the Droid DNA and Nubia Z5.
There is also a strong possibility that it will feature a 13-megapixel camera which explains why its design comes with a slightly visible hump in the back.
Rumored features that have not been confirmed include a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset and 2GB of RAM.
ZTE hinted at the device's price undercutting the typical pricing for a high-end smartphone without a contract, which normally falls around $449.
Huawei also will release a high-end smartphone in the near future with its Ascend D2.
The new handset will come with a 5-inch 1920x1080 Full HD Touchscreen along with a slew of other high-end components such as a quad-core 1.5GHz processor, 13-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera, 2GB RAM, and a 3,000 mAh battery.
It will run on Android 4.1, JellyBean and will use a quad-core processor known as the Hass K3V2 which is actually made by Huawei.
Measurements for the device were revealed by GizChina who stated that it will be 9.9mm and weighs 170 grams. This makes the handset larger than the 7.5mm ZTE Nubia Z5. The difference in weight and size could be attributed to the new battery.
The company hopes to release the Ascend D2 in the first few weeks of January. This will allow Huawei to have a strong competitor for the Oppo Find 5 and the Nubia Z5. The internal storage still has not been revealed for the handset and it is not clear if it will have LTE connectivity. That news should be revealed in the coming weeks.
