What is Vide Press?

Vide Press is the new book publishing division of The Christian Post, and we endeavor to publish high-quality books representative of the kind of high-quality content you already get from The Christian Post. We have high editorial standards and our books are available to more than 20,000 booksellers and other retailers, and on Amazon.com. We want to be a megaphone for aspiring Christian authors who have unique and well-written books, and we believe we can develop top-selling books because of our broad reach online.

Why is CP getting into the publishing business?

The Christian Post has been publishing comprehensive, up-to-date news, information, and commentaries since 2004. We are a respected leader in delivering high-quality digital content, and now we want to leverage our successful media experience in the areas of books and book publishing. Books are highly influential in culture and society, and we want to reach the millions readers who already read our digital content with books. We especially want to identify and publish new authors who are writing high-quality material about the issues that are challenging our faith in today’s world. 

What is hybrid publishing?

A hybrid press or hybrid publisher is a publishing house that operates with a different revenue model than traditional publishing, while keeping the rest of the practices of publishing the same. The revenue source of a traditional publisher is through the sale of books (and other related materials) that they publish, while the revenue of hybrid publishers comes from both book sales and funds invested by the author. To be a hybrid publisher, the longstanding standards and best practices that have been set by the publishing industry must be upheld.

What kinds of books are you looking for?

We're searching for new voices, articulate Christian writers who have the courage to confront the issues challenging today's culture and our faith. We're not interested in run-of-the-mill books that leave readers wanting more, but serious faith-talk that changes lives. We do not publish children’s fiction books, and are mostly interested in adult nonfiction.

How are Vide Press titles marketed and promoted?

The Christian Post reaches more than 6 million unique users monthly, and many more people on social media. Our audience is highly educated and active in their churches and communities, and they buy and read lots of books. We’ll leverage our broad reach and aggressively promote our authors with organic content and advertising. We also have relationships with booksellers across America, and around the world. Our books are available for sale in many parts of Europe, Australia, and Asia.

Who are you?

I’m a book publishing veteran with 25+ years of entrepreneurial and senior-level management experience in traditional print and digital publishing. My expertise encompasses editorial, marketing, distribution, and the sale of books and digital media. I’ve collaborated with and published multiple NY Times best-selling authors, professional athletes, celebrity musicians, journalists, political influencers, and notable thought leaders. My books have sold millions of copies worldwide, and the industry leading digital publishing company I founded, Xulon Press, has published more than 10,000 titles.
