'19 Kids and Counting' Star Jessa Duggar Wedding News: Couple Leaves Out 'You May Kiss the Bride'
"19 Kids and Counting" star Jessa Duggar and now-husband, Ben Seewald, tied the knot on Saturday in front of 1,000 guests.
They exchanged vows at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, Arkansas, ABC News reported. The bride donned a beige-colored gown. Her bridesmaids and maid of honor, Jinger Duggar, wore peach dresses.
According to the news site, the wedding took place exactly two and a half months after the two reality stars got engaged on Aug. 15 following a year after Seewald, 19, began his courtship with the Duggar, 21, last September.
They remained true to the Duggar tradition imposed by the family heads, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, which meant no kissing or holding of hands until after the wedding.
But it seems like the two even went further to observe the rules when they opted to skip the kiss that is supposed to be done at the end part of the ceremony. They decided to keep it to themselves, Us Weekly reported.
According to the media outlet, the newly-wed couple really wanted to experience that "special moment together in private."
Insiders for the publication recalled that during the ceremony, the bride and the groom poured two vases of sand into one vessel to symbolize their union.
The bride also exclaimed, "That's so beautiful," when Seewald put the wedding ring to the woman's finger.
After which, the guests, and those who are in the event, partake in ice cream sundaes. There was no wedding cake.
"I don't really like cake," Jessa told People magazine as she was planning the wedding. "We wanted ice cream sundaes instead."
