2 Ways Christians Can Obtain 'Uncommon Courage'
Christians are constantly facing attacks because of their biblical worldview, and it's not always easy adhering to God's Word especially when society is dictating otherwise. In order to do so, believers need "uncommon courage."
Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church wrote on his website Christians need to do two things in order to live with "uncommon courage." First, they need to accept God's Word as their authority.
"Because it is the only source that will never lie to you," he explained. "If you're going to be a man or woman of courage, you need to build your life on the rock that never changes, not on popular opinion."

They need to tell God that they believe His truth whether they understand it or not. After that, they have to make an effort to figure it out. Personally, Warren said that he chose to build his life on the Word of God, so he says things all the time that are quite unpopular.
"Why? Because I fear displeasing God more than I do your rejection," he said. "If you don't know what you believe, you need to figure it out. Your local church is a great resource and can help you find the material that will help you get deeper in and more familiar with God's Word."
Next, Warren said people need to spend more personal time with Jesus. In doing so, they are going to be less intimidated by the opinions of others.
The pastor knows that standing courageously for an unpopular opinion is not something people relish doing, but Christians can take comfort in the fact that the reward for standing courageously for the truth will last forever.
Earlier, Warren said that it is "absolutely crucial" that believers base their worldview on God's Word, because it's the only truth. Many Christians actually have a non-Christian worldview, because it's what they grew up believing.
"Here's the problem: You are profoundly influenced by the worldviews of others. Every time you have a conversation, a worldview is being communicated," he said. "You are influenced by the worldviews of your parents, friends, an advertisement, or a newspaper article. Nothing is fair and balanced, because everyone has a worldview."
