2016 Republican Presidential Polls Update: Trump Suffers Setback in New Poll

A new Reuters/Ipsos poll has marked Donald Trump's biggest decline yet as the poll reveals that his Republican supporters seemed to have diminished by 12 percent, compared to the previous polls that show bigger numbers for the businessman.

While Trump remains on top, his 31 percent in the new poll is a huge fall from his 43 percent in the polls recorded on Nov. 22, which means his fanbase may have either shifted to other candidates or probably just lost their interest in the candidate.

The new figures come as a shock to the loyal fanbase that Trump has created since July. It could also mean that the Republican voters have started to doubt the business mogul's efficiency when elected as a President.

Reuters says one of the key factors that may have led to Trump's painful fall is his rash mouth that spurted offensive comments after the Paris attacks claimed by the ISIS. He reportedly told an NBC News correspondent that he will fully support the government if it decides to pass legislation that requires all Muslims in the country to be registered for a "special database" that would possibly keep the American people from terrorism.

Critics immediately noted that his support for such a mandate would be very much similar to that time when Jews were obliged to register under the Nazi government in Germany.

Another recent incident that put Trump under heat is his mockery of a disabled reporter. During a speech, he flailed his arms and talked in a distorted manner, which critics saw as his way of mocking a New York Times journalist.

Trump's comments and speeches have cost him more than he thinks as it seems the Republican people who vowed to put him in the country's highest seat are now doubting the kind of President he will become once he reigns.

On the other hand, the businessman is still on top of the race, and until election day comes, his top spot is still under threat of a dark horse that could possibly take down all of his American dreams.
