2016 Subaru WRX STI news: Subaru announces new limited edition

With the WRX STI and BRZ 2016 models out for the public, Subaru has once again showered its latest models with a special blast.

Multiple reports say the company has garnished the vehicles with the Series.HyperBlue variant, which was also a special package that came with the 2015 Subaru BRZ. Rumor has it that Subaru is replicating its move last year for the WRX STI after the 2015 BRZ model proved to be a success.

Several outlets dub the Subaru WRX as one of the generation's hottest-selling cars, as the strong sales and demand for the 2016 model continue to prove how the sports sedan is well-received in the community.

The only sad news that comes with the announcement is that it's a limited edition promo, with only 700 units of the model will be made available to U.S. consumers.

According to Master Herald, the Series.HyperBlue is not just some shabby paint job or the usual variant addition that consumers see in some car companies. The special edition model will sport 18-inch BBS Black alloy wheels, while the same blue theme of the exterior is also applied to the interiors. The Hyper Blue will be seen as the standard shade in the auto's Alcantara seats.

Aside from its striking shade, the variant will also come with the Subaru Starlink 7.0-inch multimedia navigation system that features 9 Harmon/Kardon speakers and a must-have 440-watt amplifier.

As an additional treat to the owner or driver, the steering wheel that flaunts a tilt and telescoping feature also comes with Bluetooth connectivity and audio, as well as an electro-luminescent gauge panel that incorporates a 3.5-inch central LCD screen for information that the driver needs while driving.

For advanced security purposes, keyless access with a push-button start and PIN code access feature has been installed. The special edition doesn't stop at nothing as it also includes welcome lighting that illuminates when the driver either approaches or leaves the car.

While the BRZ will be priced for retail at $27,960, the 2016 Subaru Series.HyperBlue WRX STI special edition comes at $38,995.
