Thanks to the photos of the exterior leaked online, consumers who have been loyal to the models released by Volvo are now able to see the supposed final design of the 2016 Volvo S90, which is rumored to come sometime in 2017 as it needs more time for production.

As many already know, the Volvo S80 is in the works and is expected to complete production by early 2016. Master Herald says it gives the company an entire year or so to work on the next model.

According to several outlets, the leaked images suggest that the S90 will most likely be one such model that can go head-to-head with other prominent and well-received models such as the Mercedes Benz E-Class and the BMW 5-Series.

According to a report by Christian Today, the upcoming vehicle will be highly influenced by the Volvo XC90 as its release has resulted to positive reviews and was gladly welcomed by the public. The masses' response to the XC90 is then putting a lot of pressure on the S90 as it will be a test to see how Volvo's lineup will do in the coming years.

Sporting four doors that feature an external design that adds attractiveness due to its radiator grilles, the S90 is expected to come with chrome-finished headlights and large rear tail lamps. Prospect buyers are expected to see quarter windows and a long wheel base for an improved driving experience.

The S90's interiors boast of a cabin-like feel with leather cover seats and a highly technological build for entertainment and comfort. The technologies include a huge touch screen, TFT screen, and several digital gauges.

Multiple outlets suggest that the model will be capable of reaching a range of 31 in horsepower, at 5,700 revolutions per minute (rpm). With a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, the auto also comes with an eight-speed manual transmission that is expected to not only improve the engine's power but also allow for better fuel efficiency.

Until its release in 2017, Volvo's fans are encouraged to stay put and watch out for other details to be revealed in the coming months.
