2018 Lincoln Navigator SUV is a Spacious and Luxurious Family Vehicle

The 2018 Lincoln Navigator made its debut at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). The full-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) receives its first redesign in 10 years and the overall result is a family vehicle that combines modern luxury and advanced technology.

"Quiet luxury is both a look and a feeling. The all-new Navigator embodies both. The sleek styling, spacious interior and technology are all design to make each trip effortless," said Kumar Galhotra, president of The Lincoln Motor Company.

The latest iteration of the Navigator is built using lightweight, high-strength aluminum, which translates to a 200-pound weight reduction as well as a more refined ride.

It is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that delivers 450 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. The powertrain is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and is available with either a rear-wheel or all-wheel drive system.

In terms of exterior design, the all-new full-size SUV mostly retains the design language of the Navigator Concept that was introduced in 2016, as seen in the prominent chrome grille on the front fascia and the wheel flares. On the other hand, some elements were toned down for the production vehicle such as the gull-wing doors and concertina steps.

The 2018 Lincoln Navigator also comes with new adaptive lighting, which can adjust depending on the vehicle's speed to improve visibility and minimize distractions. There is also interior ambient lighting.

Inside the new SUV, the cabin is spacious with three rows and seven seats which makes it an ideal vehicle for families. It has a clean, luxurious design and is equipped with family-friendly technology.

Notable interior features include USB ports, power outlets and a wireless phone charger; large screens for the gauge cluster and infotainment system; SYNC 3 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility; and Lincoln Perfect Position front seats with 30-way adjustability as well as massage, heating and cooling functionality.

The 2018 Lincoln Navigator is also available with a rear-seat entertainment system via 10-inch screens that can stream content wirelessly.

Furthermore, available driver-assistance features include Trailer Backup Assist, a 360-degree camera, enhanced park assist and adaptive cruise control.

The 2018 Lincoln Navigator is currently on display at NYIAS 2017. The automaker has not yet announced pricing and availability.
