'24: Legacy' Season 1 Episode 7 Spoilers: Carter Makes Another Bold Move as Almeida Returns to Lend CTU a Hand
Following the huge explosion at the George Washington Bridge, a bigger, more personal threat hangs over Eric Carter's (Corey Hawkins) head in the next episode of "24: Legacy." But will the appearance of a familiar character from the older seasons help the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) gain traction in a more positive direction?
After Jadalla Bin-Khalid (Raphael Acloque) contacted him and threatened his wife's life, Carter is left with no other choice but to do as Jadalla says; that is, he needs to find someone who can help recover the sleeper cell list from the corrupted flash drive. And who should he turn to but CTU's very own intelligence agent and computer expert, Andy Shalowitz (Dan Bucatinsky).
In the events covering the hour from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Carter will be taking Andy out on the field to rescue his wife. But the way the synopsis tells it, it seems like Carter may have a counter-plan to not only save his wife, but also to try and retrieve the sleeper cell list.
Considering how Carter's previous foray into enemy territory got his friend Ben Grimes (Charlie Hofheimer) killed, will he be putting Andy's life in danger, too? Or will Ben's death be motivation for him to protect Andy at all cost?
Meanwhile, at the CTU headquarters, Rebecca Ingram (Miranda Otto) and her team are going nowhere fast in their attempts to get Henry Donovan (Gerald McRaney) to confess. This leads the former CTU national director to call in Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard), who was also once director of the CTU. Since their regular interrogation techniques are all leading them to a dead end, the CTU will once again rely on Almeida's enhanced interrogation techniques.
Based on the trailer for the next episode, it seems that Rebecca will let Henry so Almeida gains access to him by apprehending him on the road. What kinds of interrogation techniques will Almeida be using on Henry, and will he succeed in making the older Donovan confess about leaking the Army Rangers' names to the terrorists?
"24: Legacy" season 1 episode 7" airs on Monday, March 13, at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
Meanwhile, FOX CEO Dana Walden is reportedly disappointed with the show's ratings, which has been averaging at 2.17 in the 18-49 demographic. The rating may be decent, but it's a far cry from the show's premiere rating, which reached 6.10 in the same demographic.
Walden said that the decision on whether or not to renew the show for a second season will be made after reassessing the show's performance in May.
