3 New Motorola Phones Hinted at by FCC Listings: Moto G 2015, Moto X Kinzie, Moto Droid?
If the FCC listings are any indication, Motorola may be unveiling three new smartphones soon. Although Motorola has yet to make any official announcements, three phones passed the FCC recently, which point to possible new phones that have yet to be unveiled by the company.
Prior to the appearance of three new phones in the FCC listing, rumors have been circulating about what's Motorola has in store for consumers this year.
These rumors mentioned that the company may soon launch a high-end phone called Moto X "Kinzie," a third-generation Moto G 2015 and what seems to be a new Droid phone, which is an exclusive line up of phones that Motorola releases with Verizon.
The rumored Moto X "Kinzie" as listed in FCC, carried FCC ID IHDT56UC2 and also featured support for all LTE bands in the US except for that of Verizon. Another listing however with FCC ID IHDT56UC1 indicated that all LTE bands will be supported including that of Verizon, which is said to mean that this phone will be available on all US carriers.
The Moto X "Kinzie" is reported to have a 5.5-inch display with QuadHD resolution of 2,560 by 1,400 pixels, have MiMo Wi-Fi and capabilities for Turbo Charging.
Another device listed with FCC had FCC ID IHDT56UB1 could possibly be a mid-range phone, because of the absence of Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and only band support for the Big Red network. It is speculated that this may be the third-generation Moto G or a new Droid phone with Verizon. This same device is said to have a removable back plate, which is a standard customizable option of the Moto G line.
This same device however may also be the new Droid Mini device because of its rumored 5.2-inch display, which is considered too big for a Moto G phone.
The last device listed had FCC ID IHDT56QG6. Like the previous one listed, this also looks like a mid-range phone because of the lack of Wi-Fi 802.11ac. Its removable back cover and its dimensions bears close resemblance to the second-generation 2014 Moto G, fueling speculations that this may be the new Moto G 2015.
