$336.4M Mega-Powerball Jackpot Still Unclaimed by Single Winner
A mega-Powerball jackpot worth $336.4 million is waiting for the player who bought the winning lottery ticket in Rhode Island to come forward.
The lucky numbers drawn on Saturday were 01, 10, 37, 52 and 57, and the Powerball - 11.
So far, the exact location of where the winning lottery ticket was sold has not been disclosed nor has the person who turned millionaire overnight been revealed, lottery officials said.
Also, several tickets matching the first five numbers but not the Powerball were sold in several cities of the following states: Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Wisconsin. Each of those tickets can prize $1 million.
There were also over 2 million other tickets that won smaller quantities of money with a combined total of more than $13.3 million with the numbers drawn on Saturday night.
According to NJ.com this multi-state Powerball jackpot is the largest top prize in Powerball history.
In most states, federal taxes normally take out 28 percent of lottery winnings. However, the tax rate can rise depending on the prize money. Thus, lottery winnings could be subject to federal taxes as high as 39.6 percent (the highest tax bracket) as well as a state tax, which in the end combined could total up to even 50 percent of the prize money.
