385-lbs of Caviar Found in Morgue
Two people in Russia have been arrested after authorities found 385-pounds of caviar which was hidden throughout a morgue. Some of the prized salted fish eggs were stored in the same places as the cadavers.
Authorities in St. Petersburg, Russia, said that have confiscated 385-pounds of caviar from a mortuary. The highly prized and desired black caviar is produced from the endangered species Sturgeon. Red caviar, salted fish eggs, is produced from salmon.
A 64-year-old business man who ran a funeral service in the building and a 42-year-old morgue attendant were arrested by local police, their names were not released, the police report said according to The Washington Post.

The pair reportedly "stored and packed red and black caviar next to the corpses inside the morgue's pathology department," police reports stated as reported by The Moscow Times.
The red caviar was packed in separate containers which were labeled "Aviation Security. Checked." Another set of identical containers were found in a body storage room, which was used to hold “biological waste," according to The Moscow Times.
A video by officials was obtained and posted by Lifenews.ru an online Russian tabloid. The Video shows a refrigerator packed full with caviar. There are also containers of caviar that are in a coffin next to a body.
According to local authorities when the men were questioned on the caviar the two men said it was "meant for their private use to celebrate the New Year and a party for the hospital personnel," police said.
No one was charged with wrongdoing as of Wednesday because possessing caviar is not a violation. But police have begun to investigate where the caviar came from and whether being stored where it was broke sanitary laws.
It remained unclear whether morgue officials would face any penalties. Police stated in their report that a hospital administrator failed to explain how the caviar ended up being stored next to the corpses and left the building.
