America is closing in on its 240th birthday, and people around the country are gathering with their family and friends to celebrate the holiday. Here are the things you need to know about the Independence Day events so you can make most of the holiday, from the fireworks to the concerts, even at the comfort of your home. If you want to experience the festivities live, then what better way than to treat yourselves and the whole family to attend A Capitol Fourth.
Choose a spot on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol for the Capitol Fourth celebration, one of the biggest and star-studded events in America. Filled with exuberance and majestic fireworks, this event includes concerts, parades, fireworks displays and so much more!

You'll surely be amazed with the dazzling stars and artists that will be participating in the event this year. It will be hosted by Emmy Award winner Tom Bergeron and will be broadcasted live starting at 8 p.m. ET or 7 p.m. CT on PBS.
Performances will be given by prominent artists such as Smokey Robinson, a Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter; Gavin DeGraw, a multiplatinum selling singer-songwriter; platinum artist Kenny Loggins; Cassadee Pope; Amber Riley; Jackie Evancho and Sutton Foster.
Grammy Award winner Christopher Jackson of the Broadway hit musical "Hamilton" will also perform in the event, together with gospel/adult contemporary superstar Yolanda Adams.
Event Flow
The concert will be opened with the singing of the National Anthem by Allisan Porter, the Season 10 winner of "The Voice," and will then be followed by the performance of the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Jack Everly. The concert will also include special segments such as the celebration of the 75th anniversary of USO, 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, and the red, white and blue send-off for Team USA who will be competing for the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro.
One of the guest participants of the concert are the Choral Arts Society of Washington, Patrick Lundy & The Ministers of Music, the U.S. Army Herald Trumpets, the U.S. Army Ceremonial Band, the members of the Armed Forces carrying the state and territorial flags and the Armed Forces Color Guard provided by the Military District of Washington, D.C.
Lastly, the event will conclude with the most-anticipated fireworks display.
