Activision's Poop Emoji Response to Years Old Tweet Suggests 'Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare' Remaster

Activision has started the hype train for its upcoming "Call of Duty" game, but that may not be the only "COD" title coming this year. Responding to a years old tweet, the company seems to suggest a "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" remaster is also in the pipeline.

Back in 2014, a Twitter user told Activision that he would "s*** his pants" if a "COD 4" remaster will be released. The company, through its official "Call of Duty" Twitter account, responded with a poop and pants emoji on Saturday, April 28, giving rise to reports suggesting a "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" remaster announcement is coming.

Multiple sites like Eurogamer and GameSpot believe the response confirms what recent leaks revealed. It's reported that the "COD" 2016 game will be called "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," and its Legacy Edition will include "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered." A Reddit user also recently spotted "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" listed in the Trending section of the PlayStation Store on the PS4.

It is widely believed that all these reports mark an imminent announcement. Activision typically announces new "Call of Duty" titles in late April or early May. This year apparently won't be any different. Jim Sterling, a popular YouTuber and games critic, said the next "COD" game will be unveiled on Tuesday. Sterling is considered to be a reliable source of information, so fans might have only a few more days to wait.

"Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" is expected to be based in space. Industry insider Shinobi previously revealed the new game will be set in the "very far future" and will involve "space combat," "full on sci-fi." Now, Forbes reports Activision has confirmed this information "without actually saying so officially." This confirmation appears to be the addition of a big spaceship in "Black Ops III's" Nuk3town map.
