Adele '25' News: Single 'Hello' Goes Viral Ahead of November 6 Album Release
Grammy-award winning singer Adele is back in full force. Her first single titled "Hello" from her upcoming third album "25" recently broke a previous record in terms of number of views on Vivo, according to a report in Fortune. With 27.7 million views as of October 26, it bested Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" which got 20.1 million views in May of this year. Her new album will be coming out on November 20 as previously announced by the singer herself via her Instagram account.
According to the report, this is a good sign for the artist, as it somehow assures her that her new album will be received well by buyers who will hopefully end up buying her album. On iTunes alone, her record has become number one in 93 countries, according to another report in Telegraph, while the single "Hello" is the number one most downloaded song in 102 countries.
The video for the single has also gone viral, with over 25 million views on YouTube. The Fortune report noted that aside from the merits of the song itself, fans of Adele were also talking about two striking things shown on the video. First of these is the singer touting an antiquated flip-phone and second is how she was shown making tea in the video. Comments about these two things were all over social media, particularly Twitter, partly resulting in the video becoming viral.
Last October 21, Adele shared an open letter through Twitter, calling her album a "make-up record." The album's title "25" signifies her age when she recorded. Now 27, the singer also said sorry to her fans for making them wait so long before she released the album. She said, "'25' is about getting to know who I've become without realizing. And I'm sorry it took so long but, you know, life happened."
While her previous album, "21" was a "break-up record," this new album is a record that allows her to "make up" with herself, for what she has done and what she has not done in her life.
