Agents of SHIELD Season 2 Premiere Date, Live Stream, Spoilers: New Poster and Video Clip Released Ahead of Sept. 23
Marvel's television series, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D," is getting a second season and is set to premiere on Sept. 23. After a fairly good first season run, the series was renewed on May 8 earlier this year.
A new promotional poster and a new video clip was unveiled earlier this week. It would seem that for the second season, the main running theme looks to be uneasy alliances following the events of the second Captain America film, "The Winter Soldier."
The fall of the S.H.I.E.L.D organization occured around episode 17 of the first season after the premiere of "The Winter Soldier." To keep with the consistency of the Marvel Universe, the television series has also decided to follow through with the events of the film. One of the team's core members, Agent Grant Ward, was revealed to be a double spy working for HYDRA and acted as a catapult for the show's dwindling popularity.
Since after the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D, the show had gained such momentum that it delivered on its original premise as a television series tie on for Marvel's blockbuster movie franchise and ended the season with a worthy cliff hanger and a totally different theme than from where it started.
The second season will be seeing two new agents joining the team of Agent Coulson, Agent Isabelle Hartley played by Lucy Lawless, and Lance Hunter played by Nick Blood.
The season's first episode will be titled "Shadows."
"Coulson and his team are now wanted fugitives with limited resources but that's not stopping them from keeping the world safe from powerful and unseen threats everywhere. However, with new members they hardly know, will S.H.I.E.L.D. ever be trusted again?" the synopsis reads.
The episode will be premiered at 9 p.m. on the ABC channel on Sept. 23 later this week, and can be watched online through live stream by clicking here.
