Agents of SHIELD Season 2 Release Date: Arriving September 23, 2014, 'Enemy Has the Advantage'

Marvel's television series, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D," is getting a second season and is set to premiere on Sept. 23. After a fairly good first season run, the series was renewed on May 8 earlier this year.

Only recently, ABC released a pair of promotional videos for the upcoming second season of the show. The first is only a short clip of collections from the first season's comedic action bits. The second one actually has new footage from the second season.

The second season will feature the agents of the organization operating off the grid as the S.H.I.E.L.D organization faced its demise in the previous season. Clark Gregg, who plays Agent Phil Coulson in the series and in the Marvel films, has said the second season will be about his team "figuring out what S.H.I.E.L.D ought to be."

The second promotional video is mostly a tone setter but also offers a glimpse at what Agent Coulson and his team will be facing in the second season. This also alludes to the idea that they will be facing both new and old enemies. The promo video also features a voice-over from Agent Coulson foreshadowing the dark and mature tone the second season will be taking.

"The enemy has the advantage. But we have to fight on for those we've lost, so the sacrifices they made were not made in vain. We disappear, become ghosts. That's how we have to live now – in the shadows, to protect the innocent. To save lives, even when they don't know it," Coulson says.

Season two will be continuing off from where season one ended – with the dangling ex-Agent Ward storyline as well as Agent Coulson's search for answers to his strange experiences after taking the GH 325 serum.
