'Alaskan Bush People' News: Ami Continues to Fight Lung Cancer
The Brown family matriarch, Ami, still has some fight left in her despite being diagnosed with stage four lung cancer last year.
Ami appears to be a bit stronger. Based on her daughter Rain's latest update on her health, she said they both spent an entire morning making their favorite peach tea and their own essential oils. It was a mix of frankincense, eucalyptus, pink grapefruit, spearmint, and coconut oil.
Though the teen did not say the specifics of her mother's condition, she seemed to be in one of her better days as she was up and about doing certain tasks.

Ami's 14-year-old daughter, Rain, shared last month that her mother just went through her second round of chemo. But she did not detail her mother's health status, whether or not her mother is responding to treatment. But she said the family is hopeful and faithful.
Also on the same post, the teen thanked everyone who has shown their support in such harsh times.
The stars of Discovery's "Alaskan Bush People" moved from rural Alaska to southern California so Amy can have easier access to medical care, as she has to undergo chemo and radiation therapy.
When the matriarch detailed how she found out about her cancer, she said she once noticed that she easily tires. Walking from their home to their garden will leave her out of breath. And on certain days, she would be too weak to move around that she would have to be bedridden.
Initially, she thought it was all because of her arthritis but when she went to the dentist and had a scan, they found a little capsule, and then one thing led to another. And she learned her diagnosis.
Ami, however, is not the only Brown struggling. Her daughter, Rain, recently opened up about her struggles with depression and anorexia. Her fans showered her with words of encouragement on but more importantly, she continues to strive to do better as well.
