Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL will be the company's first handset to feature Windows 10
When Microsoft's latest software was officially released to the public over a month ago, fans of the tech giant were pleased with the new update for the PC and tablets. And all they could probably think about now is getting it in a mobile version. Lucky for them because Alcatel, the Chinese company known for its low-cost phones, is said to be in the works of bringing Windows 10 to their handset. According to Softpedia, the first device in their line that will get the latest software mobile version is the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL.
The source reported that the device is still unannounced but it is rumored to feature Windows 10 Mobile right out of the box. It will be a combination of a mid-range handset and entry-level specs which will sport a 5.5-inch 720p display. It will have an 8MP back camera with autofocus and LED flash and a 2MP front camera. Under its hood is said to be a quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor, 2GB of RAM and storage capacity of 16GB.
Aside from that, the phone is said to be LTE-compatible and will offer HD Voice support. The details of the smartphone were leaked by tech enthusiast and serial leaker Evan Blass who posts on Twitter under the username Evleaks. He said that the device will most likely arrive in December.
The company has not confirmed anything about the rumored Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL but one thing can be sure—they will release a device carrying the Windows 10 Mobile. This validation was made by Steve Cistulli himself, the senior vice president for Alcatel OneTouch in North America. He spoke to CNET and revealed that a Windows 10 smartphone will be unveiled before the year ends. He also said that their company is "very supportive of the Windows ecosystem."
If the rumored Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL is really coming, then there's a big chance that it will really be the first holder of a Windows 10 software on mobile.
