'All the Money in the World' Release Date, Trailer News: Kevin Spacey Is the Richest Man in History in New Clip
Fans will need a second look of award-winning actor Kevin Spacey, who is unrecognizable in the trailer for Ridley Scott's highly anticipated film "All the Money in the World."
The Oscar-winning "House of Cards" star plays the role of J. Paul Getty, the "richest man in the history of the world," as he was described in the clip.
"All the Money in the World" follows the billionaire's 16-year-old grandson John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer) and his abductors are planning to get millions from his extremely rich grandfather.
The younger Getty's mother Gail (Michelle Williams) tries to convince the senior Getty to save her son's life, but he just would not budge as he believes that they staged the whole thing.
When asked in the "All the Money in the World" trailer, "How much would you pay to release your grandson is not $17 million?" He coldly answered "Nothing" and then walked away.
It also looks like the kidnappers will do anything to get his money. The young Getty's ear was sent to the family and it is looking more and more like he could actually be in serious danger and Getty paying the ransom might just actually save his life.
The moments in the trailer are accompanied by a perfect track — the1968 hit "Time of the Season" by Zombies. It has the lyrics: "What's your name? Who's your daddy? Is he rich like me?"
Thankfully, Gail finds an ally in Getty's advisor Fletcher Chase (Mark Wahlberg). The synopsis reads:
With her son's life in the balance, Gail and Getty's advisor become unlikely allies in the race against time that ultimately reveals the true and lasting value of love over money.
Set to hit the theaters Dec. 8, "All the Money in the World" also stars Romain Duris, Charlie Shotwell, Timothy Hutton, Kit Cranston and Maya Kelly.
