Amal Clooney News: Amal Is Reportedly Charging $750 an Hour for Legal Consultations

Amal Clooney is being called "a rising star" in the legal world since she is known to take high-profile cases from all over the world. According to reports, the human rights lawyer is currently charging her clients $750 as her hourly rate for legal consultations.

International Business Times said that Amal, who currently works at Doughty Street Chambers, is very much in demand now, which caused her to raise her hourly legal fees. However, a source of the website, who's also a retired lawyer, told them that $750 an hour "does not seem to be a high fee," since in demand lawyers can even charge more. He said that there is actually no set rates among lawyers, but the hourly fees commonly fall between £200 and £300. Amal has not yet commented on the said issue.

On the other hand, the report also noted that the British-Lebanese laywer launched a scholarship for Lebanese women, which will fund the students' secondary education. The 37-year-old lawyer's husband, George Clooney, was also reported to join Amal's cause, together with his charity, Not On Our Watch foundation. Fans are happy to see Amal and George giving back.

Meanwhile, Amal and George, who don't have their own children yet, decided to adapt a new dog, according to People. The 4-year-old canine, which they call Millie, was adopted from San Gabriel Valley Humane society last year, and became the newest addition to the married couple's other rescued pups. The dog was previously found looking for food outside a restaurant before being rescued by the shelter.

After their meet-and-greet at the shelter, Jennifer Clarke, the social media correspondent of the shelter, said that Millie left with Amal and George already feeling like part of their "big happy family." "Millie found her forever home and Clooneys have a new best friend," Clarke said.
