Amanda Bynes Released From Mental Facility
Amanda Bynes has been released from the Malibu, Calif. rehab facility where he was treated for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder for the past several months. Bynes was released into the custody of her parents; mother Lynn has a conservatorship over her daughter.
"Amanda was released in the last several days, into the custody of her mother, Lynn. Amanda is doing very well, in fact, she is doing great," a source told Radar Online. "If Amanda needs to get further impatient treatment, she will. The plan is for Amanda to continue to see her doctors and adjust back to living her life. It will be very controlled and supervised."
Bynes was taken into custody for her psychological well-being and placed on a 5150 hold after setting a fire in the driveway of a neighbor in July. In September, she was diagnosed with schizophrenia and hospitalized for intense treatment. The family rallied around to support her and asked for privacy during the time.

A judge recently ruled that Bynes is mentally capable of standing trial for the DUI charge, which could end with her receiving a plea deal instead of serving any time, given her mental and physical situation. Her mother will still remain the conservator, or overseer, of all of Bynes' assets and make judgments for her when necessary. That isn't likely to end until a judge feels that Bynes is truly capable of making good and healthy decisions for herself.
Bynes retired from acting and had been acting erratically, leading many to fear for her well-being. She had several arrests for DUI and was also involved and charged in an incident where she allegedly threw a bong out of her apartment window. All this culminated in the actions of July, where she set a fire in the driveway of a neighbor. That incident led to the 5150 hold and further treatment.
"The outlook for Amanda is very, very good. She will need to be compliant with her medications, but she'll be a functioning member of society again," Radar's source noted.
