Amanda Knox News: Knox Now Working as a Reporter for Seattle Newspaper
Amanda Knox, the former college student whose murder trial in Italy made international headlines, is now working as a journalist.
Knox was hired as a freelance writer at the West Seattle Herald nine months after being convicted for the second time by an Italian court for the murder of her roommate, Meredith Kercher.
Herald Web editor Patrick Robinson told The Daily Beast that the paper asked Knox to write for it.

"We approached her originally to give her the opportunity of a normal life. We simply asked her as we would anyone of that age and stage, if they would be interested in writing for us as a qualified writer of that scale and this level of journalism," said Robinson.
Robinson was very impressed with Knox's professionalism, saying, "She's certainly been through a lot, and has been very easy to work with, and very interested and eager in doing stories."
"Amanda's a very bright, very capable, highly qualified writer," he adds.
The 27-year old, who has been working for the paper for a few months, initially used a pseudonym. Lately, she has been using her real name, and some of Knox's contributions to the paper include a review of a high school production of "Rosencratz and Guilderstern Are Dead," a profile of ArtsWest Artistic Director Mathew Wright, a story on a stage play titled "Dogfight," a profile of Lynnette Mathias of NuTiger Organics, and occasionally she even does some photography for the paper.
Robinson says that writing for the West Seattle Herald was an appropriate move for Knox.
"It doesn't matter what people say or think—the truth is that she's a West Seattle resident, she grew up here. Why not give her an opportunity to be an actual human being versus a celebrity?" said Robinson.
Knox and her ex-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito were found guilty of the same crime in January 2014 by an Italian court. She is expected to make an appeal.
