Amanda Seyfried & Balthazar Getty casted in 'Twin Peaks' revival
Those who have followed the television serial drama "Twin Peaks" way back in 1990's should be made aware that the show is coming back for a third season. It's been a super long wait indeed but Showtime is now gearing up for a comeback. It's also going to give the present generation a taste of what the show is all about.
According to Screen Crush, the series will pick up 25 years after the last season's events and will still be under the creative direction of original series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost. Some of the original cast will also be returning like Kyle MacLachlan, who played FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper who came to the Washington town of Twin Peaks to investigate the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer played by Sheryl Lee. Metro UK reported that Lee will be returning along with other actors including Sherilyn Fenn, Richard Beymer, Catherine E. Coulson and Dana Ashbrook.
But presently making the headlines is the addition of new faces in the show. As detailed by Coming Soon, Amanda Seyfried and Balthazar Getty have been casted by Lynch. The roles of the two have not been revealed but Vanity Fair cited that Seyfried has landed a "major role" on the show. The site also said that she is rumored to play a "pivotal new character" and will be appearing in several episodes throughout the whole course of the season. Moreover, several reports speculate that the "Big Love" actress may be playing the role as the daughter of Cooper and Annie Blackburn (Heather Graham). Her speculated role is linked to her blonde hair and facial features that are the same with Graham's. Getty's character is also still hazy but Slash Film reported that he could possibly be taking over an existing role instead of joining in as a new character.
At the moment, production is presently going on in Washington State in Twin Peaks. The series is set to make a season premiere in 2016 on Showtime.
