Amazing Spider-Man 2 Villains: Green Goblin to Appear in Film (PHOTO)

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 film will feature a slew of villains including the hero's arch-nemesis, the Green Goblin, according to a picture that surfaced earlier in the week.

This new image reveals Spider-Man taking on the Goblin in an area that resembles a lab or a factory riddled with gears.

The character, played by Dane DeHaan is sporting his costume and is fighting in the picture that was posted up by FindAnyFilm.com. The site recently partnered with Sony for an anti-piracy campaign called Moments Worth Paying For. There was also a short teaser released by the site.

The Green Goblin mantle has been taken by both Norman and Harry Osborne in the comics and old films. His first appearance in a film was in the original Sam Raimi directed Spider-Man released in 2012 and was played by Willem Dafoe.

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Jamie Fox as Electro, and Paul Giamatti as the Rhino. The film hits theaters in the spring and follows the original which was released in 2012.

There will also be a game to accompany the film that will feature another prominent villain from the hero's canon.

Kraven's appearance in the game does not mean he will be a part of the upcoming film. Most Spider-Man games based off of the movies feature villains that did not make it to the big screen.

The famed hunter of the web-slinger also known as Sergei Kravenoff appeared in various Spider-Man comics and animated adaptations of the canon. Kraven's Last Hunt, a series released in the late '80s marked one of the villain's most powerful storylines where he finally catches Spider-Man and wears his costume trying to emulate the role. This arc ends with Kraven killing himself, but its impact has made him one of the more memorable villains in Spidey's Rogue Gallery.

The game is developed by Activision and Beenox and will be available for the PS3, PS4, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
