Amber Tamblyn to Join 'Two and a Half Men' as Charlie's Bisexual Daughter
Actress Amber Tamblyn joined the cast of "Two and a Half Men" as the illegitimate daughter of character Charlie Harper, previously played by Charlie Sheen.
Tambyln's character name is Jenny, and she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as an actress and meet her unknown family, reported TVGuide.com.
She will reportedly be just like Sheen's character in her mannerisms and the things she likes. Jenny will also be bisexual in the show.
CBS will feature Tamblyn in about five episodes with an option to join as a regular next season.
The show was renewed for an 11th season in April, and CBS announced Angus T. Jones will not be returning for a full-time role. Sheen was fired from the show in March 2011 after which he had his infamous meltdown that had him dominating the news for months. He was eventually replaced by Ashton Kutcher, who played a new character entirely.
Jones will be cut from the opening credits of the show for the upcoming season. He was the "half" in Two and a Half Men, so the show will be at odds with itself.
However, perhaps it was Jones' appearance on a Christian YouTube interview segment that caused his demotion. He stood up for his faith and beliefs and called Two and a Half Men "filth" among other things.
"I'm hopeful that he'll carve out some time to do some episodes and he's certainly not written out of the series by any means," said creator Chuck Lorre to E! News.
Tamblyn is known for her roles "Joan of Arcadia," "House," "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" and "127 Hours."
"Two and a Half Men" will be back on television Thursday, Sept. 26 on CBS.
