'American Horror Story: Hotel' Release Date, Plot Spoilers: Creators Reveal New Details for Upcoming Season

Co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk revealed on Friday new details about the upcoming Season 5 during the Television Critics Association summer press tour.

In the press tour, Murphy mentioned that the whole idea of the "Hotel" story plot was inspired by a surveillance video from a Los Angeles-based hotel that emerged two years ago. It was shown in the footage that a girl in an elevator was never seen again. Murphy also revealed that the season will take place in downtown L.A.

And with just a few months left until the series premiere, the entire cast members' characters have also finally been revealed including Lady Gaga, who will play as Elizabeth, the wealthy owner of the L.A. hotel.

"She owns the hotel, and she is sort of a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art and fashion and people, and she has a nefarious plan that's revealed in the first episode and plays out over the course of the season," said Murphy.

Aside from Gaga, stars that will be joining her include Finn Wittrock who will play as Tristan Duffy, a male model infatuated with Elizabeth, Cheyenne Jackson who will be Will Drake, a fashion icon and L.A. transplant and Dennis O'Hare who will play hotel employee Liz Taylor. Kathy Bates will also star as hotel manager Iris.

Wes Bentley and Chloe Sevigny will also join the cast as John and Alex Lowe, a police detective investigating murders. Angela Basset plays famous actress Ramona who is known to be a frequent visitor of the hotel while Sarah Paulson will play Sally who lives in the hotel and has a disagreeable relationship with Iris. Matt Bomer stars as Donovan, a member of the hotel's quartet.

The show also revealed a lot more guest stars like Darren Criss, Madchen Amick, and Naomi Campbell, according to Den of Geek.

Followers of the show are also wondering if AHS alum Emma Roberts will still be seen in the next season. Murphy confirmed that she is still indeed going to be back.

"She's still going to do a couple episodes of 'Horror Story' at the end, I think. She comes at the end. She comes and she has a great thing with Evan Peters at the end," said Murphy.

"American Horror Story: Hotel" premieres Oct. 7 on FX.
